What are chinch bugs and how can we prevent them from killing your lawn?

Chinch bugs are a small slender bug that measures no more than 1/5 of an inch.

While very small these chinch bugs reproduce by the hundreds in very short time period and are particularly detrimental to St Augustine grass. Commonly found in very hot and dry locations such as the edges of sidewalks and driveways these pest can start anywhere. While chinch bugs typically don’t like Bermuda and Zoysia Grass it’s not impossible to find them there, but more often than not they prefer St Augustine grass over all others.

Here at Green-ER we pride ourselves on our expert care when handling chinch bugs. Our program starts with a Preventative chinch big treatment and careful monitoring of lawn conditions. In the event your lawn develops chinch bugs we have to tools and know how to eliminate these pest from your lawn.
